The Pension and Occupational Health Insurance Fund (Carsat) is a social security body which deals in particular with preparing and paying pensions.
The pension and occupational health insurance funds (Carsat) are organizations of the general social security system of metropolitan France with regional competence. They entered into force on July 1, 2010 and replace the former Regional Health Insurance Funds (CRAM), except in the Alsace-Lorraine region and the Île-de-France region. The Carsats have three main missions:
- Prepare and pay pensions
- Provide assistance to policyholders weakened by a health problem or loss of autonomy
- Ensuring health and safety at work, while trying to anticipate occupational risks
From the first professional experience, an employee begins to contribute to his retirement. The Carsat on which the worker depends credits the retirement account from the first day of contribution. Regardless of the employee’s age or professional situation, the Pension Insurance site offers personalized, secure and free online services. All employees can take advantage of these services by creating their personal space.
The Carsat personal account allows each worker to consult various information about his retirement.
- The number of quarters validated
- His entire career
- His retirement date (calculation of the retirement age)
- Simulate different scenarios (retirement at different ages)
- Estimate the amount of his retirement
- Complete your insurance period
- Simulate the cost of a quarter redemption
- From the age of 59, it is possible to request the update of my career statement
The Carsat personal account allows all workers to find out about their pension rights.
Carsat is the preferred contact for employees of the general social security system for their retirement and their survivor’s pension:
- Employees in industry, commerce and services
- Non-permanent civil servants
- Civil aviation flight crew
Carsat’s mission concerning pensions is to record and check the data necessary to the determination of the pension rights of the insured persons of the general scheme. They pay the pensions resulting from these rights. They also inform insured persons and their employers about pension insurance legislation. All employees benefiting from the general pension scheme can find all the information concerning their pension in their personal space.
At the national level, the pension fund for employees of the general social security scheme is the CNAV. The Mutualité sociale agricole – MSA is the pension fund dedicated to employees in the agricultural sector. There is also supplementary pensions for employees such as Argic-Arrco, Ircantec or CRPN.
