Hasty insurance subscriptions over the phone are over. Since 1is April, new distance selling rules apply. “Consumers will be better protected”, argues Flor Gabriel, deputy director of the control of commercial practices at the ACPR, the gendarme of banking and insurance. Wild canvassing of insurance by telephone, unsolicited and outside the insurer with which you already have a contract, is now booming. Complaints related to these forced sales have increased by 8 points, out of all the reports received by the ACPR between 2020 and 2021. More than 80% report a problem of consent to the contract.
